The Peace Project
The Guild Art Gallery is currently presenting Ribbed Routes, a solo exhibition of recent works by G.R. Iranna at The Guild, Mumbai. La Biennale Venezia:2009 Edition
The 53rd International Art Exhibition, titled Fare Mondi, directed by Daniel Birnbaum, took place from June 7 to November 22 2009 in Venice. Making Worlds, presented in the renewed Palazzo delle Esposizioni in the Giardini and in the Arsenale, was conceived as a single, large exhibition that articulated different themes woven into one whole. It was not divided into sections. Considering collectives, it comprised works by over 90 artists from all over the world and included many new works and on-site commissions in all disciplines. The much awaited India Art Summit 2008 was inaugurated at Pragati Maidan by tourism and culture minister, Ambika Soni, on August 22, 2008. Tryst with Peace
Buddha Enlightened, an international art project for world peace, which took place in Bodhgaya, is one of the biggest site-specific projects, which India has seen in recent years. From October 20 to November 30, 2006 more than 30 artists from the Netherlands, Surinam, Israel, France, UK, Canada, Japan along with Indian artists attended and created art works ranging from paintings to sculptures, installations and films for this peace project.
